NEWSTECONS ORGANIZED TOPPING OUT CEREMONY OF VIETTEL HOA LAC TECHNICAL CENTER

The topping out ceremony of Viettel Hoa Lac Technical Center was held on May 18, 2022, at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Industrial Park, Thach That, Hanoi, by Newtecons and Investor – Viettel Asset Management Company. Representatives from Supervision Consultant – Vietnam Institute for Building Science and Technology (IBST) – Technology’s Center for Design and Construction Consulting and subcontractors attended the ceremony.

On November 29, 2021, Newtecons started working on Viettel Hoa Lac Technical Center project as the General Contractor of Construction and M.E.P. Site management team from Newtecons has kept the plan on track as committed the Investor, effectively finish topping out ceremony on time, after six months of focusing only on construction and overcoming problems imposed by epidemics and bad weather.

Mr. Ha Quang Huy – Director of Viettel Asset Management Company, was surprised by the event that the Site management team of Newtecons held, it was well beyond the Investor’s expectations. He also complimented the supervision consultant, suppliers, subcontractors, and General Contractor Newtecons for their continued efforts over the years. “The Viettel Hoa Lac Technical Center is a significant project with a unique nature and rapid development.” With the achieved results, I am confident that the Site management team of Newtecons will to complete the project on time and with high quality,” he stated emphatically.

Mr. Vu Van Chu – Deputy Director of Technology’s Center for Design and Construction Consulting – Vietnam Institute for Building Science and Technology (IBST) – represented the Supervision Consultant and congratulated the Site management team on the successful completion of the topping out event in accordance with the stated objective. “Today, attaining the outcomes is the success of all parties’ efforts after more than 170 days of continuous building with many obstacles, notably during the severe Covid-19 time.” IBST is dedicated to collaborating closely with the Site management team of Newtecons to ensure that the allocated activities are completed effectively.”

Understanding the requirements from the beginning, the Newtecons Site Management Team worked tirelessly on the project, dedicating their full attention to it. We are committed to allocating all required resources to achieving the Investor’s safety, quality, and progress goals.”

Viettel Hoa Lac Technical Center has 7 floors with a total construction area of 21,467sqm. Despite the lack of a basement, the project has a complicated structure that required high techniques as the construction of the building with two basements structure. In which, each floor with a height of 6-9m is constructed to serve the installation of technical equipment systems such as oil tanks, huge water tanks, more than 70m in length and -7.5m in depth.

The building has the shape of a big, solid building block and is equally modern and new, with a square box architecture, a non-standard perforated aluminum facade system, and an impressive steel structure system. It is a typical work for the combination of technical and artistic features.

Viettel Hoa Lac Technical Center, which is expected to be completed in September 2022, will go through the most stringent completion and acceptance phases. The M.E.P system implemented by Newtecons is committed to meet data center construction standards, and plays an important role in operational safety, security, and self-convenience.

Some critical items, such as an air conditioner to maintain a consistent temperature for servers and equipment, a backupable connection system, security and surveillance systems, a power supply system that meets international standards, and so on, were prioritized by Newtecons, we closely monitored the construction process from start to finish. The project also uses a BIM model in construction to synchronize the stages.

We can expect one of Viettel’s two largest data storage centers to start operating in Vietnam later this year.
