NEWTECONS EXTENDS WARMTH AND SUPPORT TO THE COMMUNITY IN BA TANG, HUONG HOA, QUANG TRI
In line with its ongoing charitable efforts, the Newtecons Trade Union Committee recently made a heartwarming visit to Ba Tang village, Huong Hoa district, in Quang Tri province, delivering gifts as a gesture of support. This visit was part of the “Warmth of Love” initiative, a follow-up to the Newtecons Running Challenge 2022. The challenge was an online race where Newtecons employees contributed 1,000 VND for every kilometer they ran, with the proceeds going towards the “Warmth of Love” program.
The initiative aimed to alleviate some of the hardships faced by families in the area through the provision of practical gifts. Contributions included warm clothing for preschoolers aged 3-5, school bags and notebooks for top-performing primary school students, as well as milk and sweets for younger children. Overall, the campaign distributed gifts worth over 110 million VND.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Khoa, a representative from Ba Tang Communal People’s Committee, commented on the significance of Newtecons’ support: “Ba Tang is the most isolated village in Huong Hoa district, where 68.75% of households live below the poverty line. The children here often face winters without adequate clothing, and the area is prone to crop failures and a high incidence of child malnutrition. Given our remote location, it’s rare for us to receive such support. This is the second time Newtecons has reached out, bringing not just material assistance but also moral support, for which we are profoundly grateful. On behalf of the local authorities, I want to express our deep appreciation for this meaningful contribution. We look forward to ongoing support, including educational materials and further acts of kindness from your company.”
Ms. Nguen Thi Ngoc Diem, Principal of the Ba Tang Kindergarten, speaking on behalf of the 377 children who benefited from the program, emphasized the impact of the donations: “Today marks a special occasion, with the ‘Warmth of Love’ program providing not just warm clothing but also gifts to children in an especially difficult situation like that of Ba Tang. The hardship of their families often leaves these children lacking in essentials, particularly personal items crucial for their health and well-being. Despite our best efforts to care for and educate these children, we are limited by resources. This generous gesture from Newtecons not only brings warmth but also spreads love and fosters positive values among us.”
Ba Tang is a border village, situated 50 km south of Huong Hoa district, near the Vietnam-Laos border. Despite its many challenges, the community is dedicated to improving its economic situation and the living standards of its residents, with a special focus on the well-being of children.
