TO SPREAD LOVE THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY, NEWTECONS ORGANIZES VOLUNTEER EVENTS FOR THE FOURTH QUARTER OF 2023
To provide the “little angels” with love, warmth, sharing, and care this Christmas, the Executive Committee of Newtecons Trade Union arranged for officials to visit and donate gifts to two Ho Chi Minh City orphan shelters in the morning of December 16, 2023.
The first stop for the Newtecons Trade Union Executive Committee was at the Mai Tam Shelter in Hiep Binh Chanh Ward, Thu Duc District. This is a location where children infected with or afflicted by HIV/AIDS can be nurtured and cared for. After more than 18 years of operation, the shelter has become a family for more than 80 children with special needs, ranging in age from birth to 22 years. Children are cared for in terms of nutrition, health, and learning conditions, as well as having a family atmosphere in which to grow and develop.
Thien Than Shelter in Long Truong Ward, District 9, Ho Chi Minh City was the group’s second stop. This facility cares for about 130 orphans aged from newborn to eight years old, especially since it was established by Mr. Bui Cong Hiep, a veteran.
The Trade Union Executive Committee also gave televisions, washing machines, school supplies, and other necessities during this visit in the hopes of improving the children’s everyday lives in the two shelters.
Specifically, the volunteer team showed up early at the shelter, assisted the kids, and decorated the laurel wreath and Christmas tree. To further cheer up the kids in the final days of the year, the Trade Union Executive Committee has planned unique magic and musical shows.
We know we did the right thing after seeing the joy on the kids’ and shelter authorities’ faces, and we are motivated to continue sharing our humane message throughout the community.
The volunteer team returned from the trip with a range of emotions, chief among them the desire to keep sharing and supporting more people facing challenging situations. Have faith that these admirable human qualities will advance society and increase happiness for all.
