NEWTECONS LEADERSHIP AND THE ECOSYSTEM ATTEND THE GROUNDBREAKING AND COMMENCEMENT CEREMONIES FOR HO CHI MINH CITY’S KEY PROJECTS

On January 15, 2026, Ho Chi Minh City officially held the groundbreaking and commencement ceremonies for four key infrastructure and transportation projects, with a total investment of nearly VND 240 trillion. The initiative aims to concretize the Central Government’s major orientations on strategic infrastructure development, establish a foundation for enhancing national competitiveness, and position Ho Chi Minh City in the era of mega-urban development.

The central venue of the event was set at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Rach Chiec National Sports Complex, attended by former State President Truong Tan Sang; General Le Hong Anh, former Standing Member of the Secretariat; Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; along with representatives of leaders from ministries and sectors.

Within the series of events, Mr. Nguyen Ba Duong – Founding Chairman of the Ecosystem, together with the Newtecons leadership team including Mr. Vo Thanh Liem – General Director, Mr. Ngo Dinh Ngoc Quang – Executive Director, and representatives of the Ecosystem’s leadership, attended two groundbreaking ceremonies: the construction project of Phu My 2 Bridge invested by Masterise Group, and the Rach Chiec National Sports Complex project invested by Sun Group.

Phu My 2 Bridge plays a pivotal role in completing the external and inter-regional transport network; expanding urban development space; reducing pressure on existing traffic routes; and strengthening connectivity between the city center and surrounding areas. The project is approximately 6.3 km long, designed with eight lanes, and has a total investment of about VND 23.186 trillion. Once completed, it will contribute to forming a new inter-regional transport axis; shortening travel time and reducing logistics costs; and promoting green and sustainable urban-industrial development in the eastern area of Ho Chi Minh City and the Bien Hoa – Dong Nai region.

Regarding the Rach Chiec National Sports Complex project, the facility has a preliminary total investment of more than VND 145.6 trillion, implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, with a scale of nearly 187 hectares. The project is oriented to develop into a modern sports economic ecosystem, aiming to become a sports hub of national and regional stature. Key components include Vietnam’s largest modern stadium with a capacity of 65,000 to 75,000 seats, an 18,000-seat multipurpose indoor arena, an aquatic sports center, a football academy, a sports hospital, an exhibition center, and a public park.

The year 2025 marked a period of strong growth for the Ecosystem, with total ecosystem revenue reaching VND 29 trillion, of which the construction and installation sector of the three companies contributed VND 26 trillion. Building on this performance, along with construction capabilities proven through many large-scale projects nationwide-especially the Long Thanh International Airport passenger terminal project, which is accelerating to meet key milestones – Newtecons, Ricons, and SOL E&C will expand their participation in major national infrastructure and transportation projects in 2026, continuing to affirm the synergistic strength of the Ecosystem.
