NEWTECONS INITIATES CONSTRUCTION ON VAN LANG UNIVERSITY’S G1A-G1B, G2, AND T2 BUILDINGS
The Phase 4 construction kick-off for Van Lang University was held on May 13, 2023, attended by stakeholders including Van Lang University, the architectural firm Ho Thieu Tri Architects LLC – Ho Chi Minh City Branch, the project management consultants First Quality Management Consulting JSC (FQM), and the general contractor Newtecons.
The project encompasses 4 buildings, with the T2 building covering 5,744 m2, the G2 building 12,461 m2, and the G1 complex (G1A and G1B) totaling 20,674 m2.
The design features distinctive architecture, notably the drum-shaped T2 building, and unique façade designs for all structures. The project also includes 3 interconnected basements linked to existing subterranean structures, with each basement level exceeding 14,000 m2.
The construction timeline is projected at 24 months, split equally between the basement development and the superstructure phases. Newtecons, with substantial experience in basement construction and supported by investor, consultants, and local government, anticipates challenges related to concrete pouring, materials delivery, and vehicular access due to the extensive basement area and challenging site traffic conditions.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi My Dieu, Principal of Van Lang University, expressed her expectation for Newtecons to adhere to or surpass the projected timelines. Mr. Hoang Phuong Lam, Operations Director of Newtecons, affirmed his commitment to meet or exceed the established schedule.
Upon completion, this project will finalize the comprehensive design of Van Lang University—Campus 3, contribute significantly to regional development, and represent one of the largest constructions in the area. It is also aligned with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Van Lang University.
