NEWTECONS HOLDS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY TRAINING ACROSS VIETNAM’S THREE REGIONS

With a commitment to building a safe and professional work environment, on September 28, 2024, Newtecons organized a series of Occupational Safety and First Aid training sessions simultaneously across the North, Central, and South regions. Hundreds of Newtecons employees actively participated, equipping themselves with essential knowledge and preparing to handle emergencies, contributing to enhancing safety standards at Newtecons.

The program was conducted simultaneously at three sites: Newtecons Tower (Ho Chi Minh City), Quoc Quang Project (Quang Nam), and Lumiere Evergreen Project (Hanoi). Experts from Vietnamcontrol and the Ho Chi Minh City First Aid and Disaster Prevention Training Center—well-known safety and first aid training institutions—personally led the sessions, equipping the staff with the necessary knowledge and skills.

The training program focused on critical topics such as Occupational Safety and Health laws and related regulations, identifying and responding to potential hazards in construction work, basic first aid and emergency response, and practicing safety skills for each construction phase.

Besides theoretical content, the program presented a variety of practical examples, helping participants to readily absorb and implement the knowledge in their daily tasks.

Understanding that occupational safety is integral to fulfilling ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) requirements, Newtecons invests in training and elevating safety awareness among workers. This initiative not only ensures a safe and healthy working environment but also aids in fostering a sustainable society.

In September, Newtecons was honored as one of 10 businesses from 10 Southeast Asian countries with the ASEAN-OSHNET Excellence Award 2024, recognizing its strong management and implementation of occupational safety and health practices. This award, given biennially under the ASEAN-OSHNET framework, aims to acknowledge companies that have made remarkable achievements in occupational safety and health across ASEAN. Importantly, Newtecons takes pride in being the first construction company in Vietnam to earn this meaningful recognition for occupational safety and health.
