MIZUKI TEAM WON THE NEWTECONS CHAMPIONSHIP SUPER CUP 2022

The Newtecons Championship Super Cup 2022 took place on August 28, 2022, at Gia Dinh Stadium (HCMC), and it was concluded after more than 3 hours of battle between 4 teams from the North, Central, and South. The Mizuki team successfully won the Championship Cup with a convincing 4 – 0 victory in the final match, “holding up” a cash prize of VND 50 million from the Organization Board.

Mizuki and Lien Quan had a fierce confrontation in the final match. Mizuki opened the scoring after only a few minutes. The Lien Quan team was almost completely outmatched by the strong attacks. Despite numerous opportunities to counterattack, Lien Quan did not counterattack “efficiently.” Lien Quan may spend too much energy competing in the Semi-Final match under hot weather this noon. Mizuki shone brightly for the entire 40 minutes and two halves. Finally, when the whistle blew, the fans erupted in joy at Mizuki’s well-deserved victory of 4 – 0.

This is considered Mizuki’s excellent game turn because the two teams previously met at the Southern region’s table, but the Lien Quan team won the Championship. Mizuki team achieved the goal this time, becoming the defending champion of the Newtecons Championship Super Cup 2022.

Previously, in the semi-finals, according to the draw schedule: Lien Quan met Hoa Phat and Mizuki met BWID, and the teams had fierce competition in the stadium.

Meeting Lien Quan was probably difficult for Hoa Phat. Hoa Phat maintained his composure despite facing a strong opponent and playing away. However, with strong strikers and fierce play, Lien Quan quickly led the score 2 -1, earning the golden ticket to the Final.

On the other field, at the same time, Mizuki had many stunning attacks that break the BWID team’s defense. The BWID team’s players appeared to be on the defensive in this round as they had no chance to let up a goal against a highly regarded foe. Mizuki defeated BWID 5–0 at the conclusion of the game to earn a spot in the Finals. BWID faced Hoa Phat in the third-place contest.

The tremendous mood surrounding the third-place match has never “cooled down”. After barely a few minutes of play, the BWID players unexpectedly scored a goal to go up 1-0. Hoa Phat defense was broken by BWID’s constant assault but immediately pulled even with a penalty. The BWID team, however, showed better skills with the “hot” kicks, good technique, and many players with endurance. Hoa Phat stopped in the fourth position at the conclusion of the game, while BWID ultimately finished in third place with a score of 2–1.

Hoa Phat player, Mr. Ngo Thanh Cong shared: “Hoa Phat’s players genuinely want to bring the Championship Cup to the Central region but we regret only finishing in fourth place. The entire team joined together in unity today, engaged in a spirit-based competition, and ultimately triumphed over themselves. I think the Champions Cup merits us all.”
