JUNE 5TH IS NOW GREEN DAY AT NEWTECONS

Since June 5th became “World Environment Day,” it has global significance and importance for the environment. On this day, to make everyone aware of their beneficial role in maintaining the natural world, a lot of environmental preservation initiatives are promoted. And from this year, June 5th is now recognized as GREEN DAY at Newtecons.

With the goal of sustainable development, Newtecons constantly considers environmental issues in addition to guaranteeing quality for every project carried out. Taking people as the core element, Newtecons’ eco-friendly solutions come from changing even the tiniest of each person’s behaviors and routines.

In honor of GREEN DAY, let’s take a look at Newtecons’ environmentally friendly endeavors:

1. Use plantable pencils instead of pens

Vietnam contributes around two million tons of plastic debris to the environment annually. Thus, Newtecons encourages staff members to take notes with pencils in order to help lower that figure.

2. Limit the use of disposable paper cups

As per the Earth Day Network (2018), the global usage of paper cups is estimated to be as high as 16 billion annually. Still, very little of it gets recycled—roughly 1%. Therefore, Newtecons intends to put strategy into action by encouraging staff members to utilize their own water bottles and glasses.

3. Save electricity

Saving energy is an eternal story. Not only does this maximize savings, but it also helps to contribute to protecting the environment and boosting the economy.

4. Move 3 floors, no elevator

Newtecons consistently promotes the use of stairs rather than elevators for staff members relocating within three floors or less. This is good for the workers’ physical health and saves power.

5. Save paper towels and soap

Using paper towels and soap in moderation will help save resources and reduce waste in the environment.

6. Implement Recycled Uniforms

Because the textile sector produces hundreds of thousands of tons of trash annually, it has a detrimental effect on the environment. As a result, the trend toward sustainable fashion is growing, especially with the introduction of recycled fabric. All staff at Newtecons will begin wearing uniforms made of recyclable materials in the third quarter of 2024.

7. Implement Electric Taxi cards

Electric taxis are vehicles that do not smell of gasoline, have no engine noise, are good for users’ health, and protect the environment. With the desire to spread a sustainable green lifestyle in the working environment, since June, Newtecons has switched to distributing electric taxi cards to serve employees traveling for work.
