In the initial phase, Long Thanh Airport will play a “share the load” role to Tan Son Nhat Airport to relieve the congestion caused by the increasing transportation demand. It is expected to have four runways, three passenger terminals with a capacity of up to 25 million passengers per year, and 1.2 million tons of cargo per year.

The project has a large investment scale and requires complex construction techniques, with various disciplines closely interconnected, including construction, electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, information systems, and advanced technology, in order to achieve the goal of building a modern, convenient, and safe airport. Therefore, the investor has organized international bidding and selected a qualified and experienced contractor to ensure full capability for implementation.
