NEWTECONS SIGNS MOU AT THE VIETNAM – KOREA BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP FORUM 2026

The Vietnam – Korea Business Partnership Forum took place on April 23, 2026, at the Marriott Hotel in Hanoi, as part of the State visit of Korean President Lee Jae-myung (April 21–24). The event is regarded as a “new driving force” to advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

At the Forum, companies from both nations signed and exchanged 73 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) across various sectors, including energy, finance, technology, electronics, telecommunications, processing and manufacturing, mechanical engineering, construction, infrastructure, trade, tourism, and aviation.

Accordingly, Newtecons signed a cooperation agreement with Taihan Cable & Solution – one of the world’s Top 6 cable manufacturers, renowned for its expertise in high-voltage cables and energy transmission solutions.

Notably, Taihan Cable & Solution is part of the Hoban Group ecosystem, one of South Korea’s major conglomerates in construction and real estate development. In addition to its strengths in urban and residential development, Hoban Group has established a strong position in infrastructure and energy, with proven capabilities in delivering large-scale projects that meet high technical standards.

The Group’s core subsidiary, Hoban Construction, is among South Korea’s leading contractors, demonstrating comprehensive capabilities across both building construction and infrastructure, and holding a solid position within the country’s construction and infrastructure value chain.

Building on this partnership, both parties aim to expand cooperation into integrated infrastructure development, particularly in projects requiring advanced technical standards and complex integration. This collaboration provides Newtecons with opportunities to access international technical standards and progressively enhance its capabilities in the infrastructure sector.

By leveraging each party’s strengths and resources, Newtecons and Taihan Cable & Solution – and more broadly Hoban Group – expect to generate tangible collaboration outcomes. Ensuring a stable supply of materials will serve as a foundation for better schedule control and improved construction quality, while also opening up opportunities to participate in and develop large-scale infrastructure projects in Vietnam in the future.
