NEWTECONS COMPLETES TOPPING-OUT CEREMONY FOR G2 TOWER OF VAN LANG UNIVERSITY

[Ho Chi Minh City, July 11, 2024] In a dignified and joyful atmosphere, Newtecons has officially completed the topping-out ceremony for the G2 tower of the Van Lang University project – Phase 4. The event was attended by representatives of the Board of Directors of Van Lang University, the Design Consulting Unit of Ho Thieu Tri Architects Company Limited and Associates, the Supervision Consulting Unit of First Quality Management Consulting Joint Stock Company (FQM), the Newtecons Board of Directors and several other member units and partners of Van Lang Education Group (VLG).

The construction materials of Van Lang University are intended to stretch like a beautiful narrative. Each building block is gently “written” on the Campus axis, resulting in a solid landscape line, merging traffic and the environment, and ample space for cultural and artistic events. The project spans up to 85,000 m2 and includes four towers (G1A-G1B, G2, T2) with heights ranging from 4 to 12 stories and three basements that link existing blocks and basements.

Tower G2 is a block that creates a powerful focal point for the whole complex when constructed to resemble books stacked on each other. As a result, Newtecons had to build many complex structures to provide mass for the tower, including massive reinforced concrete transfer beam structures, prestressed beams, and enormous console beam structures over 6m in length and spanning more than 21m. To assure quality and technological standards, the Newtecons team of engineers meticulously researches these building approaches to provide long-term usage value to Van Lang University.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Thuy – Operations Director of Newtecons – spoke at the event

Newtecons experienced a significant hurdle during the project because most of the construction occurred during the wet season. When cleaning underground sewers, the Management team used a drainage pumping system to ensure that the building site could be ready for construction 60 minutes after the rain stopped. Furthermore, material transportation is severely limited, with only one lane leading into the building site. However, the Newtecons team worked effectively and organized specialist staff to manage traffic, guaranteeing that the transit process was not disrupted or generated congestion in the surrounding region. The ability to cover the tunnel lid in January of this year, 40 days ahead of schedule, demonstrates Newtecons’ success in project construction management.

The project is currently 14-20 days ahead of schedule in terms of body structure construction of the building blocks. The Newtecons team is hurrying to complete the remaining components while also carrying out essential rough completion of the subsurface and bodily sections to be handed over to the school in time for Van Lang University’s 30th anniversary. When finished, the project will complete the overall design of Van Lang University – Campus 3, making it the largest project in the area. Newtecons is happy to work with the investor to create a contemporary learning environment for the next generation, optimize training activities, increase student experience, and contribute to the growth of Vietnam’s education sector.
