SITE MANAGEMENT TEAM OF GRAND MARINA, SAI GON COMPLETED LARGE CONCRETE POURING, TOPPED OUT OF COVE BUILDING AND SEA BUILDING
When night falls, everything is quiet and serene, yet in Newtecons’ works, there is constant activity and light.
The Grand Marina Saigon project’s Site Management Team recently surmounted numerous challenges to finish pouring a significant batch of concrete onto the Sea building’s swimming pool floor and the Cove building’s roof deck.
The roof deck at the Cove building is a complex structural area with multiple MEP platforms and heavy machinery. In order to minimize time and expenses and prevent leaks and cracks in the roof floor, which could have an impact on the project’s long-term quality, the Site Management Team employed B.I.M. to integrate systems seamlessly. Additionally, the Cove Tower roof deck is built using a combination of pre-stressed cables and a sophisticated steel construction system to guarantee the project’s load-bearing capacity. The normal construction timetable for this approach is 6 days; however, thanks to the efforts and strict calculations of the Site Management Team, the pouring went smoothly, safely within 4 days. Since Cove Tower is the tallest structure at Grand Marina Saigon, the process of pumping concrete to a height of about 180 meters required careful planning to minimize risks to pipes and pumping equipment, and to guarantee the quality of the concrete during the high-pressure process. Completing this batch is a challenge for the Newtecons Site Management Team, but it is also a source of pride.
The Executive Board proceeded to finish the 750m3 concrete swimming pool floor at the Sea tower after mastering the pouring of concrete for the roof floor of the Cove tower. The 47th story of the Sea tower has an infinity pool similar to the “hanging swimming pool” at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore. Its 70-meter length, 380-square-meter water surface area, and contemporary architecture are intended to provide inhabitants with an opulent and exclusive leisure experience that even luxurious vacations do not include.
Seeing this as a significant project milestone, the Newtecons Site Management Team has organized tools and supplies with great care and has worked closely with the Investor, Consultant, and Designer to develop the best construction schedule. The greatest approach to fulfill the schedule is to work both day and night.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Tai – Project Director of Grand Marina, Saigon evaluated “This is a project with difficult and complex finishing techniques with high finishing standards set by the investor Masterise Home and operating unit Marriott International. However, thanks to the team’s experience in building many high-rise projects, as well as the standard planning process and the smooth coordination of the parties, the item was successfully constructed, achieving quality and safety.”
In the capacity of General Design and Build Contractor, Grand Marina, Saigon is one of Newtecons’ major undertakings. A project is deemed sophisticated when it brings together the best leisure and entertainment venues in the world, employs premium materials, and necessitates extensive processing to meet both technical and aesthetic criteria.
The project is currently undergoing urgent construction. The project is on track to top out in early December 2023 and turn over to the investor before July 2024, although overall progress has beyond expectations.
