ESG INITIATIVES IN OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AT GRAND MARINA SAIGON PROJECT

At Newtecons, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) is a top priority, ensuring a safe and positive working environment for all employees. With a strong commitment to enforcing occupational safety policies and adhering to ESG principles, all Newtecons projects are meticulously planned with stringent HSE standards and optimized construction measures. This ensures sustainable development and maximizes work efficiency. Grand Marina Saigon, a key southern project for Newtecons, exemplifies the company’s implementation of ESG initiatives in labor safety.

Continuous Occupational Safety Training

Occupational safety training is a crucial activity for the Grand Marina Saigon Project Management Board (PMB) in achieving ESG goals. Throughout the project’s implementation, the PMB has consistently collaborated with functional departments to enhance HSE practices through worker awareness training. Regular pre-shift safety meetings are conducted for over 2,500 workers on the project. Additionally, specialized training programs for all supervisory engineers and technicians of subcontractors according to specific work scopes have been effectively implemented, not only significantly reducing downtime but also boosting worker morale, improving construction performance, and enhancing quality.

QR Code Scanning for Construction Site Access Management

Complementing training efforts, Grand Marina Saigon Project Management Board has implemented a QR code access control system to streamline, enhance site entry and exit management. This system has revolutionized the project’s ability to track and manage workforce movement data, significantly reducing security and safety-related risks.

Digital Permit System

In conjunction with QR code access control, Grand Marina Saigon Project Management Board has also implemented a digital permit system to meticulously and systematically manage occupational safety procedures. This system has actively assisted the PMB in ensuring that all workers on the project possess the necessary skills and training to perform their tasks safely and efficiently. Not only does this system optimize safety control but also minimizes the use of traditional paper, providing tangible environmental benefits.

Through the relentless implementation of innovative initiatives and practical action programs, Grand Marina Saigon project has proudly achieved a remarkable milestone: reaching 3 million safe man-hours. This achievement stands as a testament to the exceptional efforts of Grand Marina Saigon Project Management Board and Newtecons as a whole in their unwavering commitment to ESG principles. Our dedication to creating a safe working environment for all workers has not only fostered a culture of safety but also contributed to sustainable development for the community and society.
